This project is needed because the warehouse is 23 years old and much of the equipment is obselote. In a perfect world, the company would buy new automation material. The challenge is connecting the old and new systems to run together for 2-3 years and this requires adding another layer in control systems. For this role, they need someone who can be the presence in IT with linkages into operational technology (OT). The new hire will work with the project lead and on-site experts and needs to bridge the gap between IT and OT. The role involves developing and quantifying solutions over the next three months, followed by implementation in the next few years. Required skills include IT expertise, complexity management, and experience with major change. The work must be done within the existing operating warehouse. The person will help control the linkage with the current WCS (Warehouse Control System) and the transition to a future WCS.
