RCI Throughput Length of Stay:Opportunity to promote appropriate progression of care, appropriate level of care, and timely discharges by optimizing care team members working collaboratively and communicating effectively in a standardized, interdisciplinary forum to plan care priorities, estimated date of discharge, and discuss discharge plans, barriers to discharge, and patient goals. A team of stakeholders is participating in the IHI Hospital Flow program. This program includes a framework for improvement of throughput and patient flow within a health system.
