Core Responsibilities1. Project Setup & BIM Kickoff- Lead/participate in BIM kickoff meetings to understand: -Project scope, schedule, and modeling standards (LOD, Revit version) ... -File structure, naming conventions, and collaboration platform (CDE)-Review the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and report findings to leadership within 2 days2. Revit Model Management (Central Model Creation)Create and maintain central Revit modelsEnsure: -Correct Revit version is used (models must be compatible) -Proper project setup (project info, naming conventions)-Break models into manageable parts (e.g., electrical, telecom, lighting)-Publish models to cloud platforms (Autodesk Forma) for team access3. File & Data Management (Linked Models)Manage different file types used in BIM: -Revit (RVT) ? link directly or process (detach, clean, purge) -DWG files ? clean, remove unnecessary elements, fix coordinates -IFC files ? convert into Revit format -Navisworks (NWD/NWC) ? use only as a last resortEnsure all files are: -Cleaned, optimized, and properly structured -Stored in the correct folder systems (internal vs external)4. Model Alignment & CoordinationEnsure all models align correctly using: -Shared coordinates and reference points -Architectural models as the baseSet up: -Shared levels, grids, and elevation views -Proper alignment is critical to avoid costly construction errors5. View Creation & PublishingCreate: -3D coordination views -Floor and system-specific views-Apply filters, colors, and templates for clarity-Regularly publish models/views for team coordination (often daily or weekly)6. Clash Detection & Issue ManagementUse tools like Autodesk Forma / Navisworks / Revizto to: -Identify clashes between systems (e.g., electrical vs plumbing)-Create and assign issues to responsible team members-Track resolution and ensure deadlines are met7. Internal Coordination SetupBuild and manage: -Coordination spaces -Working views for teams-Maintain a ?source of truth? model for all coordination activities8.
