This role involves working independently in mammography within a multidisciplinary team. The technologist will primarily be stationed at both the main outpatient center and the MD Anderson center. Key responsibilities include operating GE Essential 2D and 3D equipment and Hologic for routine annual mammography exams, assisting with biopsies, needle localizations, tag insertions, and using EPIC and Spectra for documentation and imaging. At the outpatient center, patients are scheduled every 15 minutes, and there is no onsite provider, so scans will not be read on the same day. Additional duties include managing personal schedules to ensure efficient patient flow, verifying orders/scripts, and following up on necessary diagnostic workups. This role involves working... independently in mammography within a multidisciplinary team. The technologist will primarily be stationed at both the main outpatient center and the MD Anderson center. Key responsibilities include operating GE Essential 2D and 3D equipment and Hologic for routine annual mammography exams, assisting with biopsies, needle localizations, tag insertions, and using EPIC and Spectra for documentation and imaging. At the outpatient center, patients are scheduled every 15 minutes, and there is no onsite provider, so scans will not be read on the same day. Additional duties include managing personal schedules to ensure efficient patient flow, verifying orders/scripts, and following up on necessary diagnostic workups. New employees will undergo an 80-hour training period to meet MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) compliance and role-specific requirements.
