PepsiCo is seeking a skilled Production Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Astra DB (Vector) to support their PEPVIGIL initiative as it transitions from proof-of-concept to production.... This role is critical to ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability of our vector database infrastructure supporting GenAI and semantic search applications.Key Responsibilities:Database Administration:Manage and maintain Astra DB Serverless (Vector) environments in production.Monitor database health, performance, and availability using built-in tools and custom alerts.Implement backup, restore, and cloning strategies for disaster recovery and operational continuity.Data Operations:Support ingestion and indexing of vector data for Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applications.Optimize storage and query performance using Storage Attached Indexing and vector search capabilities.Collaborate with data engineering teams to design and maintain schemas and collections.Security & Compliance:Ensure database security through role-based access control, encryption, and audit logging.Maintain compliance with internal and external data governance policies.Automation & Integration:Automate operational tasks using Astra APIs and CI/CD pipelines.Integrate Astra DB with AI platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Vertex AI) and developer tools (e.g., GitHub, Vercel).Support & Troubleshooting:Provide production support, including incident response and root cause analysis.Collaborate with DataStax support and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
