Day-to-day:Insight Global is looking for a Building Official in Orlando, FL to join a large engineering consulting company. This individual will be have past experience managing typical building and... safety inspections, plan reviews and counter technician staff. Day-to-day responsibilities will include the following: *Maintains liaison with individuals and other departments with the responsibility for acting independently on technical matters. *Makes presentations before clients, city councils, boards, and commissions. *Assists in the training of inspectors, plans examiners and counter technicians. *Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. *Examines plans and specifications of new construction, additions and alterations to residential and commercial buildings to determine compliance with the provisions of applicable city, state, and federal construction codes, ordinances, rules, and regulations. *Inspect existing buildings and premises for change of use, occupancy, or compliance. *Confer with and provide information and assistance to architects, engineers, contractors, builders, and the general public in the field and office; explain and interpret applicable codes, ordinances, and zoning regulations. *Attend and participate in meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of building inspection and plans examination, applicable codes and ordinances.We are a company committed to creating inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
