A utilities client in the Houston area is looking for a Strategic Planning Manager to join their team. This team focuses on business development and are responsible for the companys growth. This... individual will report directly into the VP, Strategic Business Growth. They will be collaborating with the five directors under the VP, compiling and consolidating the information to present to the VP. The directors provide weekly written updates that need to be consolidated. In turn, once a month that information needs to be consolidated again for the VP to provide to the SVP. Essentially, they will be combining documents and turning them into digestible executive summaries. This information all relates to how the business is growing, how they are tracking towards goals, gaps, etc. They are looking for an individual who can understand information, diagnose issues, and follow up to provide solutions. This person will identify problems and develop effective solutions to address them. There are templates in place that this individual will use to combine and consolidate the information and create visual references (may include putting together slides, creating graphs, etc.). After time, they will just be responsible for maintaining and updating it based on changes of the business. This individual will be helping this organization with strategic decisions they need to make. An example of where this VP needs support right now is with the power electric load that comes into the utility companies territory. The utility company does not own those facilities or power, but they need to provide electric support to those areas as big factories/facilitates are being built around Houston. There are different teams across this group tracking this and they are divided by regions, loads, etc. There is a lot of information needed to be consolidated and put into reports and excel files. After this information is inputted into excel, they are put into slides in power point for leadership to review. This individual is also expected to identify discrepancies in the findings/data. We are looking for someone who is comfortable analyzing data and understands the utility market and numbers and can create a story out of what they are finding.
