Insight Global is looking for an Automation Engineer for an end client to join their Electrical Systems Engineering group in Spring Valley, NY to work hybrid onsite and remote. This individual will... work in a lab environment alongside engineers and SCADA specialists to evaluate, configure, program, and test distribution automation devices, including reclosers, switches, sectionalizers, RTUs/RTACs, meters, sensors, controllers, and communication modems. The Automation Engineer will be responsible for configuring RTUs and controllers, programming and validating logic, and modifying vendor specific code to ensure devices comply with DNP3 and applicable IEC standards. In the lab, this role will involve simulating fault conditions, injecting current and voltage signals, verifying device response timing and accuracy, and confirming alarms, statuses, and control actions function correctly.
