Our client is seeking a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to support a federal healthcare construction project at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. This individual will be responsible for... developing, implementing, and enforcing site-specific safety and occupational health (SOH) programs, ensuring compliance with all federal, OSHA, and contract requirements.This is a fully dedicated safety role, reporting to the Site Project Manager, with full authority to enforce compliance and stop work if necessary.Key Responsibilities? Serve as the on-site SSHO full-time for the duration of construction activities? Implement and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Site Safety & Health Plan (SSHP)? Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain safety logs? Lead daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and AHA reviews? Develop and review Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) for all definable features of work? Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA (29 CFR), and all federal/state safety regulations?
