We are in need of a Construction Inspector for multiple large-scale, concurrent construction/renovation projects on the NVCC campus's across NOVA. The ideal candidate should have a strong... More understanding of Virginia state building codes, the Construction and Professional Services Manual, and state regulatory agencies, and experience with DoD or Higher Education projects. The position will be based at the different main campus's. The Construction Inspector will act as the owners representative throughout all phases of the projects, from inception through to project close-out. The responsibilities include but are not limited to: include reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications for completeness, accuracy, and constructability. Field construction inspection and reporting will comprise the majority of the work. Interaction with clients and contractors requires candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.Job Details Provide oversight of the contractor to ensure compliance with contract requirements and standards. Ensure compliance with state and local building codes and environmental regulations, and permit processes. Oversee compliance to safety standards (OSHA) and environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance. Complete and maintain records of field observations, including daily reports outlining the work performed, as well as field measurements and computations. Participate in technical review of submittals and development plans to ensure conformity to standards and specifications.
