Power Systems Engineer

More lead project teams to develop solutions that align with the power protection for business critical equipment and applications. You will do this by visiting client sites like commercial buildings, data centers, and industrial facilities, etc. Your responsibilities include assessing customers' technical needs and objectives, and delivering solutions that align with project specifications, scope of work, schedule, and budget. After gathering end users requirements needed for enhancements, you will develop proposals, draft up technical reports, and overall execute the project. This individual must have an electrical engineering background, and be familiar with both Power Controls and the Automation field. This position is primarily remote, working a standard 40 hours/week. It is required to conduct at least 30-50% travel to the customer sites within the region you are based out of. Compensation for this position is $110k - $140k per year annually, with the opportunity to earn a 10% bonus. Plans and directs engineering activity projects related to fire safety. Uses a broad range of CAD/BIM and other software and fire protection code/standards to provide the plans, specification, hydraulic calculations, material lists, fabrication details, and other documentation for DHA/FE and DHA/FOB projects. Meets all required state and local codes, authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements, Joint Commission for Healthcare Accreditation, and DoD standards in the development of fire protection systems. Conducts building fire protection, code, and life safety evaluations. Prepares and presents technical reports and presentations. Performs field analysis with associated reports and presentations. Performs functional testing and commissioning for government acceptance of systems delivered through the point-by-point verification of design, installation, functionality and performance of existing and newly installed fire protection equipment and systems. Coordinates with project managers to support facility modifications and other projects to ensure scope and specification compliance for major and minor projects involving fire protection equipment and systems. Evaluate proposed projects and technical solutions based on need, code compliance, effectiveness, and life cycle cost. Answer technical Requests for Information (RFIs) in accordance with codes, regulations, and DHA policy and procedures. Travel to sites to investigate open requirement packages and conduct detailed inspections of existing conditions of equipment, evaluate the effectiveness of current maintenance procedures, and confirm the use of correct operational practices. Provide a comprehensive and formal travel report detailing the observations, findings, and recommendations conveyed in a technical manner that remains consumable by a non-engineer. Subject matter expertise (SME) in one or more specific areas of remedial engineering, geology, or chemistry (e.g., site optimization, vapor intrusion/vapor migration, critical process analysis, risk and exposure assessment, HRSC, biological processes, PFAS, treatment system upgrades, and technology advancements, etc.). ? Demonstration of SME for the analysis, design, installation, and operation of treatment strategies for waste materials in soil, groundwater, air, sediment, drinking water, and providing engineering and scientific expertise to protect human health and the environment. ? Provide definitive knowledge of site investigation and remediation technology, HRSC technology providers and services, products, vendors, subcontractors, lab scale/bench scale testing firms, and other subcontractors, consultants, and team partners to create robust teams for complex problems. ? Ability to understand and drive Risk Management for remediation strategies, including development of Risk Registers, Risk Monitoring Plans, contingent activities, and Contingency Plans. ? Provide overall site management for both proposed and existing sites, including development of technical remediation approach, cost estimation, schedule development, identification of critical milestones, planning, reporting, and formal project management. ? Provide input and develop written technical reports for delivery to clients, perform quality control reviews, and maintain deliverables of high quality to meet internal and client requirements. ? Independently manage tasks and work with other Project/Program Managers on various environmental projects. ? Provide direction, instruction, training, and leadership to support staff as a mentor for your work/sites. ? Perform background research, gather information, and interpret laboratory and field data to support technical activities. Evaluate data reports and draw comparison of results with similar analysis. ? Attend site visits, observe, and evaluate client programs and activities. ? Follow organization policies and systems for purchasing, procurement, project management and reporting, business development, and marketing, and project financial status reporting to management. ? Remain highly cognizant of environmental regulations and new requirements in the U.S. ? Interact with clients and regulatory agencies as needed to support site work.
