The position is with a leading infrastructure construction and engineering firm in North America, known for its expertise in designing and building critical infrastructure such as highways, bridges, rail systems, dams, aviation facilities, and water management. The IT Project Manager I is responsible for managing and coordinating IT enabled projects within a functional organizational structure. This role plans and executes projects focused on optimizing third party applications, improving business processes, and enhancing technology-driven solutions. The IT Project Manager I partners closely with business owners, corporate IT, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, success criteria, and key stakeholders while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining comprehensive project management plans covering scope, schedule, communications, risk, change control, and staffing; facilitating project intake, recurring status meetings, and decision tracking; and monitoring project performance to proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues. The role also coordinates testing activities, including user acceptance testing, supports deployment and adoption readiness, and oversees training, change management, and go live planning to ensure operational continuity. Additionally, the IT Project Manager I ensures proper documentation and knowledge transfer for post implementation support, maintains familiarity with project management methodologies and relevant technologies, and may serve as an application liaison or administrator for select systems as assigned. Additional responsibilities may be performed as directed by IT management.
