This role is about looking after the long term vision and support of a particular supplier and mitigating future risks to secure parts for the company. The SPM would be considered the project lead for a group of suppliers (typically 10-12). They would be looking into any issues that could arise from 12+ months with a supplier, in particular looking after maturity assessments, supplier risks, business continuity plans/audits, rate readiness/load capacity risks. The manager typically likes candidates who have experience being onsite at vendors, aerospace/machine shop experience. There is a lot of travel mostly in North America and the odd trip to Europe.
