The Cash Receipts Specialist will have an emphasis on inventory review for key accounts at the firm and monitor AR and WIP, ensuring timely billing and collections in accordance with the guidelines and procedures. The day-to-day responsibilities may include:Daily data entry and application of client and non-client payments received via firm check/cash, wire/ACH.Communicate with attorneys and legal support staff concerning proper application of payments.Conduct daily cash reconciliation and prepare daily cash balance report for distribution to management.Responsible for the application of on-account funds to accounts receivable as requested.Review the status of institutional clients monthly, particularly for delinquent accounts receivable, resolve issues regarding skipped payments and short payments; correspond with the billing partner to determine the best course of action; Assist billing team with processing AR write offs.Research payments received that do not have adequate remittance details; work closely with collection and billing staff as needed to ensure the payments are posted to the correct account in a timely manner.Provide support and written documentation as required to support cash application for audits.This is a full-time position that is local to NYC, in the office 2 days a week. This individual will be a member to the firms finance team, responsible for daily data entry... and application of payments received via firm check/cash, wire/ACH, as well as communication with attorney and legal support staff regarding the proper application of payments. The Cash Receipts Specialist will have an emphasis on inventory review for key accounts at the firm and monitor AR and WIP, ensuring timely billing and collections in accordance with the guidelines and procedures.
