The Senior Distribution Engineer will lead design project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on various 2.4kV to 34.5kV overhead and underground... utility distribution projects. The Senior Distribution Engineer will lead the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting electrical distribution plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.Lead design of distribution voltage packages for both overhead and underground projects, including distribution equipment installation, feeder replacement, cable replacement, and new feeder design.Review various distribution calculations, including cable pulling, voltage drop, and pole loading calculations.Apply strong knowledge of NESC standards and utility standards, guides, specifications, and procedures.Participate in the development of project schedules, scope, budget, resource forecasting, and construction planning. Responsible for the effective management of change orders.Apply knowledge and experience to complex projects to find non-standard design solutions.Oversee or perform Quality Control reviews of project deliverables.Oversee or perform construction administration activities.Lead field inspections for overhead and underground electric facilities on public and private electric utility systems.Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers, and contractors, and develop new business opportunities.
