Insight Global is looking for a Cloud Engineer to support a defense technology company that builds cutting-edge hardware and software to support national security missions. The ideal candidate will... have experience in AWS and a strong interest or background in GIS and map processing. This role is critical to building and supporting a cloud-based mapping service that enables our autonomous systems to operate with high-resolution, mission-specific maps. Youll be responsible for both on-call operational support and long-term infrastructure development, helping us automate and scale our map generation and delivery pipeline.Key Responsibilities:Respond to on-call requests to generate, convert, and deliver maps using internal tools and GIS workflows.Support the Ghost team by preparing and uploading map tiles to robotic platforms.Build and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure (S3, EC2, networking, IOPS) to host and automate map processing pipelines.Collaborate with the Terra team to ingest raw data and produce mission-ready maps.Work with technical leads to design and implement a fully cloud-native mapping system with minimal human intervention.Help automate manual workflows and reduce processing time from days to hours.Contribute to infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform, AWS CDK, or Bloomy.Participate in daily Zoom-based team syncs and collaborate across small, agile teams.We are a company committed to creating inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
