Controls Engineer

The Controls Engineer will design overview control systems for industrial material handling solutions. This includes development of specifications, device layout drawings, control schematics, PLC logic, SCADA systems and implementing solutions which deliver exceptional value. Controls Engineer will also work closely with project teams to design systems which meet or exceed the project requirements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS % OF TIME?Controls Function: Supporting Projects60?Perform on-site commissioning, to implement and validate Control Systems design with Integrator.?Review vendor?s Control Systems specifications and scope documentation. ?Create Controls sequence of operation document, to ensure that the design meets our expectation.?Design/overview system layouts, schematics and control devices?Maintain a Control Systems progress schedule that relates to project milestones foreach project.?Prepare/overview schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication.?Controls Function: Optimize and Support Distribution Center Control Systems 30?Provide/overview documentation and support for field wiring. ?Optimize/troubleshoot and write (PLC) Programmable Logic Controller programs. ?Configure HMIs and RTUs.?Configure and troubleshoot SCADA systems.?Perform Control Systems modeling and simulation.?Work closely with Warehouse Control Systems team to investigate/integrate Controls solutions.?Provide guidance/direction in assistance with Lead Engineer to train and guide 10Controls Technicians for all sites.?Provide Control Systems technical support and training to local users.?Work closely with DC Operations and Distribution Engineers, for achieving Controls reporting and dashboard.?Design and implement Control Systems changes and improvements. ?Controls Function: Perform other Control Systems related tasks/duties as assigned. ?May require travel. More future needs of the client. The server room or MDF (Multiple Distribution Frame) and IDF (Individual Distribution Frame) locations will be partially or completely renovated. This role is designed to partner with numerous stakeholders simultaneously to construct an MDF and one or more IDF?s in new Field site locations. During the project, there will be specific milestones that need to be met, managing simultaneous conflicting priorities, ambiguity, rapid changing environments, and selecting travel to the sites. This role is designed to deliver Server and Network main distribution frame (MDF) and IDF spaces. This role requires selecting physical abilities such as using ladders, stairwells, moving power whips, racking, and selecting compute devices. The role is to implement a best-in-class standards regime for server room builds and transition to the local site to meet their business needs. Responsibilities:- Perform/validate IT heat-load calculations for MDF/IDF spaces using deployed hardware power draw (kW) and convert to BTU/hr. Ensure cooling is sized for current load + growth margin.- Validate mechanical design assumptions including airflow, temperature differential, humidity control, and equipment placement to prevent hotspots.- Coordinate with Facilities/mechanical vendors to ensure HVAC is installed, commissioned, and verified prior to rack & stack; document test results and readiness sign-off.- Establish/verify environmental targets aligned with ASHRAE guidance for IT spaces (temperature/humidity operating range) and confirm monitoring points/sensor placement.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
