Inspections may cross multiple inspection disciplines or within a specified area of expertise including structural steel, concrete, masonry, fireproofing, etc. (emphasis will be on structural steel bolting and welding) Inspection may include visual/physical inspection and field testing to verify conformance with the plans and specifications. This person will also be responsible for preparing inspection reports and providing written documentation of observations and testing of materials. They will communicate findings to engineer or project manager and when requested collaborate with the project team on solutions to potential issues. On average, this individual can expect to perform inspections on 1-3 sites per day. Other Essential Roles and Responsibilities:?Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and the specified procedures to determine if work is done according to contract specifications.?Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.?Provides clear documentation of findings and results.?Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance.?Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.?Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the Project Manager.?May interact with client and other site personnel to provide input on appropriate resolution of findings.?May assist Project Manager in development of scope for testing and inspection services?Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with Project, Department, and/or Office Managers.?Maintains equipment operation and calibration.?May assist more senior inspectors on large, complex projects.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. The Research Associate will collect face and body data gathered from large-scale capture domes and VR headsets by:?Staging and setting-up equipment for the study, which may include engaging with... More engineering, external equipment vendors, internal and external safety evaluators, and the research study team to ensure the equipment is set up properly. ?Conducting the study, including participant coaching and interaction, operating complex, experimental capture systems, and debriefing with team leadership as necessary?Performing basic troubleshooting of capture systems (hardware and software) and escalate any bugs or issues using internal tools.?Providing research study support, including data collection, tracking of participants, and tracking of equipment and procedures.?Contributing to and/or update existing documentation ?Serving as a participant for studies and being captured in various systems as needed.?Completing project work related to captures such as recording and updating capture scripts.?Attending all required trainings, meetings, and standups?Providing feedback for process improvement areasExpectations for Success To be able to successfully execute on the day-to-day responsibilities above, the Research Associate is expected to:?Review SOPs and other any other relevant documentation and consult with the responsible Lead for any questions or clarifications in advance of the capture.?Stay up to date with process and SOP changes for frequently used systems. ?Arrive on-time for captures and allow additional time, if needed, to review unfamiliar systems or SOPs and for operational set up?Arrive on-time and prepared with relevant information or materials for all required trainings, meetings, and standups.?Approach each capture and project with ability and flexibility. They help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure.? Daily operations include working from complex drawings, process sheets, instructions, visual display units, tool management PC, reading and understanding CNC programs, planning and coordination of available jobs and pallet stations to maximize machine utilization, managing the machines automatic tool changer systems, equipped with 100+ position automatic tool change system, PC based tool management/preset system, part probe, broken tool detection, adaptive control and horsepower monitor and is DNC linked.? Setup and loading of large production parts and heavy fixtures to the pallet stations internal to machining operations using appropriate material handling equipment, ladders and work platforms.? Housekeeping, removal of coolant and metal chips from machined work pieces and the machine as required to sustain future operations and maintain a clean, safe working environment.? Preparation, maintenance and orderly storage of primary and backup tooling and components using tool management/presetting system hardware and software and associated setting equipment.?
