A client in the greater Seattle, WA area is looking for a Chief Engineer of System Integration to join their team. This team's main function is to design, test, & manufacture space and launch... This team is in need of a Chief Engineer who is extremely well rounded in this space and who can help from a technical and program management perspective. You will assist within teams to alleviate key issues. The Chief Engineer would oversee the development at a vehicle level of the entire program, to include all subcomponents like avionics, electronics, mechanical and pyrotechnic mechanisms, and system integration. The ideal candidate will have experience at a vehicle level with similar space/launch vehicle programs and have tackled problems that exist when work is completed in house at the sub-component level, rather than contracting work out. The client is looking for an Engineer who can assist with maturation planning that allows for proper sequencing, and someone who is familiar with the pain points these type of mechanical structure have - with the goal of steering the team to quick evaluation of risk instead of analysis paralysis. This will be a key responsibility that the Chief Engineer will own - requirement interpretation and pushback, ensuring proper program delivery.
