Role Overview:Seeking a senior-level civil/traffic engineering leader to serve as County Traffic Engineer, managing ~35 staff across Road & Traffic Engineering and Survey units. This role owns... traffic engineering strategy, capital project delivery, traffic safety programs, and staff leadership for King County?s roadway network.Core Responsibilities:? Lead and manage Road & Traffic Engineering and Survey units (people, budgets, hiring, performance)? Act as County Traffic Engineer for King County? Oversee traffic operations, safety programs, and Traffic Management Center? Manage complex, multi-year capital roadway and traffic projects? Oversee consultant contracts and serve as Engineer of Record as needed? Certify plans, specs, estimates, and technical deliverables? Collaborate with internal departments, partner agencies, elected officials, and community groups?
