Designs/engineers applications for integrated system solutions throughout the enterprise, built upon Nortel and Cisco platforms. Provides development and analysis of complex technology RFPs, including awarding contracts based upon approved Technology Architecture Guidelines. Provides development and implementation of performance benchmarks for vendors to ensure that service delivery is achieved in a cost-effective and timely manner.? Provides detailed engineering of changes to the voice platforms required to support all project driven outcome. This includes, but is not limited to, facilitating the definition of requirements, process redesign, development of business cases, RFP preparation, vendor evaluation and selection, contract negotiations, implementation management, and support transition. ? Accountable for the recommendation, design, and implementation of voice applications that enhance the ability of departments to deliver service to their patients and staff. Accountable for developing and managing expenses within budget. Institutes proactive measures to ensure projects and expenses are within organizational requirements.? Identifies the requirement for and the creation of technology laboratory testing environments for analysis of applications before successful deployment. Remains current in knowledge of available technology to ensure organizational and user requirements are delivered as required. ? Works closely with all EIS Groups to ensure appropriate assignment of EIS resources to each project phase. Works closely with others to analyze and budget impact of proposed construction projects on system infrastructure. Works closely with the Health System Manager to ensure optimal system configurations are implemented to meet organizational financial and service goals. Works closely with senior management in Facilities and Nursing to ensure that all life safety systems meet organizational and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) requirements. Facilitates resolution of issues escalated to EIS and/or telecommunications management.? Participates in the development of standards and guidelines for the availability of services throughout the enterprise, identifying unusual applications and needs for assessment. Recommends variations from standards and guidelines, when appropriate, to enhance service. Participates in the product evaluation process with a focus on compatibility to existing systems or to enhance existing systems to support applications being proposed. ? Ensures that all work is appropriately documented and backed-up should a system failure occur.? Maintains a flexible work flow that supports emergent needs within the medical center. ? Documents, tracks, and clearly communicates the status of all issues on all projects.? Completes a mid-point review of the scope, schedule, and issues on large-scale projects and ensures user sign-off, including identifying changes in scope and gaining management approval within EIS when scope changes occur. ? Completes a final review with the primary customer contact to validate the final results of the overall project issues, including developing a list of items that is signed off by the user and completed within a mutually agreed upon time frame. ?
