The Substation Structural Civil Engineer will work within a multi-discipline team to develop designs and drawings of foundation and structural components for substation facilities in accordance with customer scope of work, industry standards and best practices, and environmental and soil conditions applicable industry codes and standards ensuring minimal cost while maintaining suitability and constructability of the design. This engineer will be responsible for all phases of designing structures and foundations for electrical transmission, switching, and distribution substations for the electric utility industry. This engineer will provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to less experienced engineers within the department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:?Develop accurate civil designs for foundations that meet industry and client standards and applicable codes.?Develop accurate designs of complex structures that meet industry and client standards and applicable codes.?Perform quality reviews of civil/structural engineering work for both peers/sub-contractors on assigned projects.?Perform hand and/or software calculations in accordance with civil/structural codes and standards. And prepare calculation summaries for submittal.?Prepare preliminary construction drawing packages for submittal to construction contractors for bid.
