The duties and responsibilities include:oAssist in the preparation of quarterly and annual statutory filings, including journal entry preparation, statutory financial statements, underwriting exhibits and schedules, financial accounting supporting schedules, and footnote disclosures.oPrepare the reconciliation between IFRS/US GAAP to Statutory basis of accounting.oPrepare investment reconciliations between General Ledger and Investment Accounting provider, Clearwater, and review all investment schedules and prepare footnote disclosuresoSupport the statutory financial statement audit process and liaison with internal and external auditors. Ensure compliance with internal controls over statutory reporting.oRespond to department of insurance inquiries and state exam requests.oAssist with analysis and draft commentary for quarterly balance sheet and income statement analytics.oWork closely with senior team members on accounting issues.oStay up to date on current and pending changes to statutory accounting guidance and financial reporting requirements.oLiaise with internal finance teams to gather and prepare quarterly and annual statutory filings for large reinsurance company.oEvaluate current financial and accounting processes, propose, and implement improvements.oAssess technical accounting issues related to statutory accounting regulations for appropriate financial treatment.oActively participate and/or lead AD Hoc Projects, including process improvements, accounting policy, and procedures documentation.oAssist with internal/ external audit requests and maintain controls documentationWe are a company committed to creating inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
