Gen AI Data Engineer/Science Lead

The Gen AI Data Engineer/Science Lead role is pivotal in guiding a global Generative AI POD. This position involves overseeing technical team members, reviewing and writing code, and collaborating with business users to translate their requests into actionable requirements for the development team. The work is conducted within an Agile environment, ensuring flexibility and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle. Though not developing features day in and out, this is a hands on role.

- Experience leading development teams
- Experience in coordinating, planning, and prioritizing tasks for medium-to-large engineering teams, this includes working with business users and translating requests into technical requirements
- RAG (retrieval augmented generation) pipelines - real work experience implementing, and using it.
- GenAI architecture
- Azure AI Vector, MongoDB and Postgres databases
- TypeScript, ChatScript, and Python
- Familiarity with FAISS, Pinecone, Milvus, and retrieval optimization
- Understanding of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Vertex AI, and AWS Bedrock
- API design and integration architecture for AI/ML systems
- DevOps - Containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, CICD, Github
- Experience in building ETL workflows and data cleaning pipelines for production.
- Practical experience with MongoDB, including querying and optimization.
- Experience designing reporting and dashboard solutions with Plotly, Dash, PowerBI, or custom tools
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills

- Experience leading production-level GenAI or RAG deployments.
- Experience building scalable data visualization frameworks and dashboards.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) for data and AI.
- Background in defining and implementing AI system metrics and KPIs
- Experience in vendor evaluation and management for AI services
- Strong ability to collaborate and mentor across engineering, product, and data science teams.
