This position will include primarily field work with some office work. ? This position works independently on broad projects under direction of a Dept. Manager.? Projects are typically in the greater Indianapolis area/Central Indiana region. Frequent travel within this region is expected.? A stipend for personal vehicle use or a company take-home vehicle will be provided, based on the assignment. INDOT and Indianapolis DPW large project experience is a strong plus.? Monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications.? Read project drawings, specifications, blueprints, and work on a variety of construction projects.? Perform construction administration and inspection services for state, county and local roadway and bridge projects and municipal utility or infrastructure projects. ? Monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications.? Inspect construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans and/or proposals on roadway and bridge projects. ? Verify plan quantities and calculations are within bid plans.? Prepare and maintain project records and reports in a timely manner.? Notify the Contractor or the Project Engineer with status updates or about non-conforming work. ? Possibly conduct hazardous material surveys, as well as asbestos abatement monitoring services during abatement projects. ? Conduct quality control testing at project sites, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate and reinforcing steel.?
