This position offers a balanced mix of field assignments and in-office collaboration at our Long Beach and San Diego-giving you the chance to build a strong foundation for your engineering career.How you can make an impactYou will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support civil and environmental project work including:Landfill and landfill gas system permitting and design, including construction plans, specifications and construction documents.Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in solid waste assignment areas and related fields.Manage projects and personnel to meet both client and SCS expectations.Makes decisions independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods, plans and coordinate work, and represent us at meetings and conferences.Field work in varied terrain and weather will be required, including surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, sample collection, drilling oversight, etc.Office-based tasks include CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit applications, etc.Business development including proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry related conferences/trade shows.Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.Complete quality control reviews on all work products (reports, design plans, design calculations, data, etc.) prior to submission.Prepare calculations for reports and in support of design documents as requested.Review laboratory data and prepare compliance monitoring reports.Travel (day trips or overnight, 20% of travel expected)Ensure adherence to client and company policies in all activities including health and safety, security, and ethics.We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
