The typical design engineer will perform various tasks including creating test prototypes and overseeing manufacturing processes.Responsibilities:Design and development of complex detailed rigid, semi-rigid, and flexible printed circuits using CAD and CAE tools. Create component footprints in conjunction with PCB Librarian.Take responsibility for PCB outline and layer setup; component placement and signal routing. Interface with board fabrication vendor to select and use correct impedance rules, DFM and DFT rulesets.Work with hardware engineers (EE and PD), PCB designers to maintain and improve PCB design process.Meet challenging design deadlines of multiple layout projects. Leverage internal resources and vendors to complete design on time.Keep up with, and develop comprehensive knowledge of, industry standards and technologies. The Utility P&C Technician will work with the Utility Lead P&C Commissioning Engineer and serve as a safety net to ensure that any errors introduced by incorrectly engineered design packages or installation are identified and corrected prior to compromising the safety of employees and /or the reliability of the Transmission & Distribution system.
