Our client's API Team is looking to build out an API Center of Excellence. This API CoE will entail all things APIs; API development, API security, API design, API best practices, building REST APIs,... Graph APIs, GRPC, AsyncAPI, etc. You will be focused on anything architecture-related to building APIs. This role is going to facilitate our clients API transformation; Building modern and secure APIs and helping people go through that journey day-to-day. This role is NOT a development role. Youre going to do some occasional coding, but youre also going to be doing Computer Art meaning API style recommendations. Youll read API specifications that teams submit, and then make recommendations for style improvements based on security, quality, etc. This position is more design-centric to the API development. Another facet of this role will be getting associates on to our clients new API Platform, Kong. You will help the associates understand how services are built, vet use cases, recommend improvements on standard path vs custom path etc. You will train these associates on the Kong platform. You do not need to have previous experience or exposure to the Kong platform, Our client will train you on it once you join. You will walk associates through the journey from building an API all the way to running the API once its in production.
