The R&D Senior Electrical Engineer, will develop new electric motor technologies and products for the Motion Business Area in Fort Smith, Arkansas by identifying and implementing innovative solutions for electric motors.
Responsibilities include:
- Contribute significantly to successful results in technology development, product development, and support of existing products performing a detailed cost-benefit analysis for design optimization.
- Create electrical designs for industrial motors per internal specifications and industry standards from fractional through integral horsepower range.
- Maintain a special emphasis on AC (Alternative Current) induction motor design methodology, modeling techniques, and test standards while analyzing motor test data for performance verification.
- Leverage expertise in motor design to contribute innovative and creative ideas to a variety of complex R&D (Research and Development) assignments.
- Ensure appropriate protection of newly created intellectual property.
- Act as project leader or senior project member providing experience in the execution and use of supporting engineering tools, processes, and methods.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain on product specification, application assistance, regulatory or certification requirements and processes.
