The MA will be responsible for triaging patient phone calls and walk-ins to determine necessity for medical appointments, prescription refills, discussing test results and other information needed.Key Responsibilities? Maintain patient confidentiality as governed by the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). ? Respond to patient calls, portal messages, and voicemails regarding symptoms, medication refills, test results, and general cardiac concerns. ? Perform initial patient assessment by gathering pertinent information (symptoms, duration, medical history, medications, allergies, etc.) to determine urgency. ? Collaborate with physicians, and APPs to provide appropriate care instructions and follow-up. ? Schedule urgent or routine appointments and diagnostic tests as directed. ? Follow established triage protocols for chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, edema, dizziness, and other cardiac symptoms. ? Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR). ? Excellent communication and clinical judgment skills. ? Ability to multitask and manage high patient volumes in a fast-paced environment. ? Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. ?
