An Oil & Gas company located in Downtown Houston is seeking a Python Data Engineer to join its Information Systems department. This group builds and supports software solutions that power real-time... operational decision-making across Oil & Gas production environments.The applications developed by this team are used by a wide range of stakeholders, from field engineers to executive leadership. In this role, you will contribute to multiple application projects, partnering closely with front-end engineers, Data Scientists, and Business Analysts/Product Owners to translate business requirements into scalable, high-performing solutions. Key Responsibilities? Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and asynchronous APIs using FastAPI and Flask? Build and integrate services using relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and others? Optimize API performance, reliability, and scalability? Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure high-quality, maintainable code? Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend engineers, data scientists, and other technical teams? Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes? Debug and troubleshoot production issues in a real-time environment?
