The MA will be responsible for triaging patient phone calls and walk-ins to determine necessity for medical appointments, prescription refills, discussing test results and other information needed.Key Responsibilities? Be attentive and responsive to doctors? and/or practice administrator/team leader requests in a timely manner. ? Maintain punctuality, consistent attendance, ? Follow all office policies and procedures. ? Make decisions that reflect the best interests of Heart One Associates and provide quality patient care. Maintain patient confidentiality as governed by the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). ? Respond to patient calls, portal messages, and voicemails regarding symptoms, medication refills, test results, and general cardiac concerns. ? Perform initial patient assessment by gathering pertinent information (symptoms, duration, medical history, medications, allergies, etc.) to determine urgency. ? Collaborate with physicians, and APPs to provide appropriate care instructions and follow-up. ? Schedule urgent or routine appointments and diagnostic tests as directed. ? Follow established triage protocols for chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, edema, dizziness, and other cardiac symptoms. ? Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic health record (EHR). ? Excellent communication and clinical judgment skills. ? Ability to multitask and manage high patient volumes in a fast-paced environment. ? Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care. ?
