Job Description
Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients. Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate system and according to department policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Knowledge of x-ray procedures and protocols
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray exam including body mechanics and patient movement.
• Ability to properly position patients for x-ray exams according to each physicians’ requests or protocol
• Knowledge of radiation protection
• Training in orthopedics a plus
• Ability to pay close attention to detail
BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and communicate clearly with staff and patients
• Familiar with basic computer functions
• Ability to take direction

Required Skills & Experience
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Certificate/Degree from Radiography program
• ARRT Certification required
• Maintain CE for ARRT certification
• State of Wisconsin Radiographer license required
• CPR certified (can be obtained after hire)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of HIPPA guidelines
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations
• Performs all other tasks and projects assigned by the Radiology Supervisor or physicians
Physical Requirements
• Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment as required
• Sit/stand and/or walk 4 – 8 hours daily
• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally 100 pounds
• Frequently carry, push, pull, bend, crouch and/or squat
• Frequent grasping, fine motor manipulation
• Full range of body motion to handle and lift patients as needed
• Frequently move lift, push, pull radiologic equipment into various positions
