Job Description

The IT Vendor Manager will lead the management of relationships with our client’s IT vendors and service providers, ensuring contracts and agreements align with strategic goals and deliver measurable value. This newly revamped role is ideal for candidates with deep IT expertise or strong commercial/relationship management experience. You’ll be central to major initiatives in your first year, including launching a centralized asset inventory and driving cost savings.

Key Responsibilities:
• Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with IT vendors and service providers.
• Contract Negotiation: Collaborate with Sourcing and Procurement to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Performance Monitoring: Oversee vendor performance using SLA tracking and benchmarking dashboards; identify underperformers and optimize contracts.
• Work Request Management: Initiate and prioritize vendor work requests; manage triage and escalation for issue resolution.
• Cost Management: Drive immediate savings through software rationalization, vendor renegotiations, and asset reuse.
• Risk & Compliance: Ensure all vendor activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
• Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with stakeholders in IT, finance, engineering, marketing, and sales.
• Reporting: Prepare and present vendor performance, contract status, and cost savings reports to senior management.
• Project Leadership: Lead big initiatives such as:
• Centralized Asset Inventory: Real-time view of all hardware/software assets.
• Vendor Performance Dashboards: SLA and benchmarking tools.
• Software License Compliance: Automated tracking and cost recovery.
• Hardware Lifecycle Management: Standardized procurement and refresh planning.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years in IT vendor management, procurement, sourcing, or related roles.
• Education: Bachelor’s in IT, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Certifications: CPSM, CTPE, ITIL, or similar credentials a plus.
• Skills:
• Strong negotiation and contract management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Analytical and data-driven decision-making
• Project management and organizational skills
• Deep understanding of IT products, services, and market trends
• Proficiency with vendor management tools (Flexera, ServiceNow, SNOW, USU, etc)
