Position Summary
The Paralegal provides essential legal support to the firm’s attorneys, particularly in litigation and Worker’s Compensation matters. This role involves assisting with trial and mediation preparation, managing discovery processes, and maintaining organized case documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Support attorneys with litigation and Worker’s Compensation cases, including:
Conducting formal and informal discovery
Locating and interviewing witnesses
Preparing medical chronologies
Performing legal and internet research
Collect, organize, and analyze medical, employment, and academic records
Communicate with clients to gather discovery responses and case facts
Draft preliminary responses to discovery requests, including:
Form Interrogatories
Special Interrogatories
Requests for Production of Documents
Requests for Admissions
Maintain a discovery calendar to track deadlines for both outgoing and incoming responses
Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, mediations, arbitrations, and other key proceedings
Coordinate independent medical examinations and compile documentation for expert review
Required Competencies
Strong time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and calendar/diary software
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Ability to interpret complex documents, including scientific journals, financial reports, and legal materials
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Discretion in handling confidential information
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate required
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in trial and mediation/arbitration preparation preferred

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in trial and mediation/arbitration preparation preferred
