Job Description

Our client is looking for a mechanical engineer to participate in the design and detail engineering efforts to support the construction of aluminum and steel vessels. This company is creating new sea vessels small and medium sized for various government customers.

Day to day:
Working on a team of mechanical engineers for new design vessels
Performing 3d models in Ship constructor and SolidWorks
Ensuring the designs are up to federal regulations and requests
Creating models, drawings and detailed bills of materials
Performing basic calculations required for system design outfitting

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors in engineering
5 years of experience - mechanical engineering and maritime / ship building
Solidworks or Shipconstructor

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Bachelors in marine or mechanical engineering
Experience and familiarity with CFR, Classing Society rules, ABYC, IEEE, and military contracts is preferred.
