Job Description

An employer's Docs team manages technical documentation that supports the company's products across a global, distributed organization. The team partners closely with Engineering, Product, UX, Quality Assurance, and Customer Success to ensure documentation aligns with business priorities and product direction.
This role is responsible for managing technical documentation projects end‑to‑end, collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders, and ensuring documentation is accurate, usable, and release‑ready. The team values collaboration, learning, and modern documentation practices, including docs‑as‑code, and supports team members across time zones from the Western US to India.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical documentation projects from design to release readiness, including identifying, scoping, prioritizing deliverables, and defining release timelines
• Leverage cross‑functional relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs, define problems, and align documentation with business objectives and priorities
• Collaborate with the Product team to gather requirements and provide input on user interface design, user experience, and documentation integration
• Partner with Engineering, Product, UX Design, Quality Assurance, Customer Success, and related teams to create content supporting F5 products
• Organize and facilitate the content review process; review and edit technical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to style guidelines
• Serve as a subject matter expert in technical writing principles, methodologies, and tools, advising on best practices and standards
• Use git to manage source code and participate in peer code reviews
Participate in team efforts such as style guide development, content strategy, and content audits

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves

• BA or BS degree in Technical Communications, Writing, English, or a related area, or equivalent experience
• At least three years of technical writing experience
• Ability to work independently with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience distilling highly technical concepts into documentation that is clear, engaging, empathetic, and easy to understand
• Strong collaboration skills and comfort working with geographically distributed teams
• Experience with Linux systems and the command‑line interface
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes; application delivery networking and related concepts; and/or service provider networking
• Understanding of web technologies such as HTTP, REST, and JSON
Experience with cloud technologies, both public and private, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and VMware vSphere
