Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking an entry-level Safety Coordinator to join our Safety Department on a 3-month contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various safety-related administrative tasks, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, and maintaining driver files. This role requires a proactive individual with experience in safety coordination, particularly within the waste industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage Vehicle Qualification Files (VQFs) for DOT (transportation).
Maintain driver files, ensuring all files are up-to-date and compliant.
Coordinate drug screens for drivers and employees.
Handle workers' compensation claims and coordinate necessary actions.
Perform various administrative tasks related to safety coordination.
Ensure overall safety compliance within the department.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications:
Minimum of 1+ year of experience in Safety within the waste industry, preferably with a CDL.
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Safety coordination.
Minimum of 4+ years of administrative experience.
Proficiency in Office 365, Outlook, and Power Apps.
Preferred experience with Lytx.
Skills:
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Lytx safety management systems.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance.
