Job Description
An employer is looking for a Tableau Analytics Project Manager to support a major metrics and reporting initiative across five core data pillars. This role focuses on moving existing datasets into Tableau, building new dashboards from scratch for developing pillars, and connecting data from systems like ServiceNow. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with structured and unstructured data, has strong SQL and ETL skills, and can translate data into clear, actionable insights. This blended role’s responsibilities include but is not limited to building and managing Tableau dashboards, owning data initiatives, driving the project forward, running timelines, stakeholders, and project plans. Key responsibilities include developing, enhancing and maintaining Tableau dashboards and reports that clearly communicate business insights and support decision making across multiple teams. This includes designing intuitive layouts, building interactive features, and ensuring visualizations meet stakeholder requirements. This person will be responsible for supporting the migration of existing datasets into Tableau, ensuring that data is properly structured, cleaned, and optimized for reporting and visualization. This includes partnering with teams to understand legacy data and re mapping it into Tableau-friendly formats. They will collaborate across the organization’s five pillars, some of which already have established metrics and others that are starting from the ground up. You’ll help shape how these new pillars track performance and measure success within Tableau. This person will integrate Tableau with ServiceNow using native connectors or custom workflows, especially for the two pillars that will continue to operate within the ServiceNow environment. You will help ensure seamless data flow between systems. In this role, this person will write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and manipulate data from various sources. This includes preparing datasets, troubleshooting data issues, and ensuring that the underlying data powering dashboards is reliable. Participation in ETL work is required, whether through tools or manual processes, to clean, join, and transform data into usable formats for analysis. You’ll help build repeatable processes for data refresh cycles and ongoing reporting needs. In this role, you will work closely with business partners to understand their metrics and reporting needs, translating vague or high-level requirements into tangible reporting deliverables. You will help define KPIs, metrics definitions, and data logic.
