An employee is looking for a Remote CMDB Specialist. This person will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and usefulness of the CMDB. This person will be reviewing 4-5 CMDB records daily. They will validate data logic relationships and service vs. app classification. This person will need to understand data logic between objects and know how Configuration Items are related as well as understand their dependencies. For this role, this person will ensure the relationships in the CMDB reflect reality, so that impact analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting are accurate. They will ensure high-priority services are accurately represented in the CMDB, manage CMDB tickets by updating, correcting, or enriching CI data. They will run reports and dashboards, track data quality, completeness, and usage metrics. This person will analyze trends by identifying patterns or anomalies in CMDB data and flag improvement opportunities. They will coordinate with their leader and 10-15 other stakeholders to clarify data ownership, updates and priorities. This person will need to be able to conduct a gap analysis to identify missing Configuration Items s or incomplete relationships in the CMDB. For example, if a service is listed but the underlying apps or infrastructure are missing, thats a red flag. It also means validating completeness and understanding if the business has all the date it needs to support operations. Being an expert in classification is important as this person will need to be able to identify if the Configuration Item is a service or application.

3-5 years of experience in IT service management, with a focus on configuration management and CMDB administration.
3+ years of experience with CMDB tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Helix, Micro Focus Universal CMDB). The program uses ServiceNow.
3+ years of experience with data modeling and database design.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage, databases).
Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, such as ITIL.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
Familiarity with cloud computing technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Program uses Azure.
Understanding of API integrations and data exchange formats (e.g., JSON, XML).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Experience with IT automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
