A successful multifamily real estate investment and management company located in Seattle, WA is looking for a hands-on Real Estate Staff Accountant. The position will oversee in-office and on-site professionals.
Responsibilities:
Ensure financial accuracy in financial figures, maintaining financial record, preparing, and distributing reports, and resolving accounts and invoices.
Verify accuracy of figures, postings, and documents
Secure and maintain files, records, cash, and cash equivalents
Bank account reconciliation
Cash flow management
Account payable and receivable
Preparation of monthly financial reports
Complete period-end closing procedures and reports
Consolidate and deposit cash received
Follow company policy and procedures
Maintaining books for multiple projects
Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
Report analysis and findings to management team
Prepare and record journal entries to properly reflect all cash and accrual activity for a portfolio of properties according to GAAP standards.
Track and ensure compliance with deadlines for all relevant duties.
Provide ongoing reviews of financial activities
Provide ongoing support to others for understanding the setup and functionality of Yardi and serve as an internal subject matter expert
Audit and adjust Yardi tenant ledgers
Reconcile deposit cash versus liability versus rent roll
Audit gross potential rent report
File exercise tax
Perform CAM reconciliations by managing all aspects of operating expense recoveries as applicable.
Conduct ongoing job cost accounting reviews by tracking and recording building and tenant improvements.
Maintain GAAP fixed assets register and depreciation schedules.
Work closely with other teams to ensure accurate recording and smooth onboarding related to asset acquisitions and dispositions.
Perform ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Audit experience in public accounting is desired but not necessary
