Job Description

A major publicly traded company in the travel industry is looking for a Power BI Developer to join a crew planning organization that handles the crew management systems from a development, business intelligence, and business analysis standpoint. They are looking for a Power BI Developer to join the business intelligence team. The role will be around 90% coding and development and 10% meeting with the team/standup/occasionally meeting with stakeholders. This person will be directly impacting the crew management part of the business, who is migrating from one crew management system to a homegrown proprietary system. They will be taking reports, moving data to Snowflake, and migrating from old Power BI/Tableau/reports and standardizing the environment in Power BI. This system supporting 40,000+ crew members in over 200+ different countries. This person will bring expertise in the design, development, and formatting of tabular reports, charts, graphs, and dashboards with drilldown capability and demonstrate a strong understanding of data visualization best practices. We are looking for a candidate who is a detail-oriented thinker exhibiting strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Additionally, this person will be doing the development in Power Bi and working with SQL and Snowflake. They will also work with Excel and all Microsoft Office tools and need to be proficient in those tools. Lastly, this person will need familiarity with Oracle.

Required Skills & Experience

-5+ years of Power BI development experience including data modelling, DAX formulas, and custom visualizations
-5+ years of SQL and Excel experience for data manipulation and analysis
-Proficiency with Snowflake and Oracle
-BA in computer science or information technology/systems or data science
-Experience in an agile environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Python proficiency
-Travel, hospitality, and cruise line industry experience
-Tableau and SSRS proficiency or exposure
-MA degree
-Experience with Power Apps and SharePoint integrations is a plus.
