The company has an enterprise-wide charter focused on data management capabilities, including Data Management Maturity, Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Operations, Data Platforms, and Data Literacy. The team’s mission ensure that every decision-maker at the company has timely access to the trusted data they need to increase margin and to guide Salesforce to increased revenue. The Product Manager, Master Data Management will support the definition and operationalization of the company’s internal master data management (MDM) strategy and drive implementation, adoption, and maturity of MDM capabilities across the organization in partnership with the Global Data Governance and Business Technology teams.
Responsibilities:
The MDM Product Manager will be responsible for driving the product management function for MDM through delivery of best practices while demonstrating and delivering business value in a fast-paced, volatile, and complex ecosystem.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Business Stakeholders to understand the roadmap, business requirements, and priorities.
• Review requirements documents and prepare questions or clarifications in advance.
• Build business intimacy through user research, interviews, user shadowing, market research, and data analysis.
• Define business problems with a focus on user empathy and experience, optimizing solutions to fit a wide range of business needs by consulting with the engineering team.
• Partner with business and technical functions to understand key user personas and master data management capability requirements.
• Leads cross-functional initiatives as a delivery component, representing his/her team's work
• Participate in architecture and design reviews to ensure requirements are understood and not overlooked.
• Support the development and implementation of MDM capabilities across prioritized domains, in partnership with the Product Manager.
• Maintain a prioritized Product Backlog, ensuring it is fully groomed for three sprints ahead.
• Distill technical requirements into written goals and stories, avoiding implementation details. Break down epics into user stories with clear acceptance criteria, in collaboration with the engineering team and architects.
• Drive Sprint Planning, Product Backlog Grooming, and Product Increment Planning in alignment with priorities and sprint goals.
• Work with delivery teams to ensure work completion according to business objectives and sprint goals.
• Demonstrate new features and enhancements to business leaders and users, incorporating feedback into future development sprints.
• Shields the engineering team from distraction by acting as the main point of contact for the delivery team to the users and the business.
• Coordinate with the Release Manager on deployments to higher environments.
• Clearly articulate risks, issues, and dependencies, bringing visibility to TPMs.
• Partner with Engineering to prioritize incident resolution, tech debt, technology improvements, and innovation.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years experience in product management in data management area
• 5+ years hands-on experience with MDM solutions
• Proven experience in supporting large-scale data management transformations and/or product implementations
• Product management experience, including defining product visions, developing and delivering product roadmaps, etc.
• Strong data governance background that includes driving strategy, architecture, governance, tooling and enablement
• Effectively drive consensus across organizations and clearly articulate governance strategy, vision and business values
• Experience supporting complex projects with a team-focused approach, organize and handle deadlines, and demonstrated passion for working with data
• Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills with ability to educate, inform, influence, and drive consensus across different functions and levels of the organization
• Understanding of Salesforce products is a plus
• Experience with large scale enterprise solution delivery ,data analysis and dependency management within and across teams
• Commitment to continuous improvement, successful at leading by influence, and excellent at building business cases for investments to improve data management
• Ability to be agile, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguous specifications
• Effectively motivate people, instill accountability and demonstrate the value of data across a wide range of individuals (engineers, data scientists, analysis, service owners, executives, customers, auditors, etc.)
• Excellent team player who is able to work with virtual and global teams
