Job Description

This role will work on the Data Services team as part of the Hawaiian integration project. The team will do the ELT, data engineering needed to integrate HA data systems into our Alaska data systems. For the immediate need, the candidate will work on a team that is migrating analytical data from HA’s tech stack comprised of Snowflake, Airflow, and dbt to Alaska’s Databricks platform.

· Strong hands-on experience in the areas of ETL design, data modeling, and ETL development.
· Ability to come up to speed quickly in the required platforms and technologies with minimal supervision/work independently.
· Facilitates best practice guidelines around all stages of development.
· Able to work with analysts, and translate requirements to design and build a solution that will meet Business needs and integrate seamlessly with EDW.
· Gain team approval for all designs, and effort estimates.
· Research and analyze current systems, subsystems and interfaces to understand the current or new process flow.
· Document work via Functional and Tech Specs.
· Develop unit tests, performance tests, and consider security requirements.
· Prepare and participate in design and code reviews.
· Analyzes processes for gaps and weaknesses, building future state models and creating roadmaps and migration plans to get there.
· Communicate progress and work using Agile Methodology

Required Skills & Experience

· Databricks, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, strong SQL, data warehousing/ELT experience.
· 5+ years of experience with Data Ingestion
· 5+ years of experience with Data Warehousing: building relational databases, star schemas
· 4+ years of experience with Airflow.
· 3+ years of experience with Databricks Lakehouse and/or Delta tables.
· 2+ years of experience with Snowflake
· 2+ years of experience in the design, implementation, and support of a Kimball method data warehouse on SQL Server or Oracle
· Strong Python and SQL skills
· Business and/or technical background in the areas of Data Integration (ELT), Data Security, and Enterprise Data Warehouse development
· Experience in Change Management, Release Management, and Source Code control practices
· High school diploma or equivalent is required.
A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in computer science, systems analysis, or a related area, is preferred.
