Job Description

Insight Global is currently hiring for a Soft Materials Mechanical Engineer to support a top research group in Redmond WA. This role will support novel wearables development. The ideal candidate should be able to produce analytical models for wearable systems using scalable and programmable methods. This role will work across a multidisciplinary team. This role is very hands-on in the lab, testing and characterizing materials as well as building analytical models.

Required Skills & Experience

* M.S. or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Textile Engineering or similar

* Strong skills with Python, Matlab or equivalent programming languages for data analysis and analytical modeling

* 3+ years experience with mechanical characterization, such as bi/uni-axial testing using Instron or similar

* Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and communicate large data sets to multidisciplinary teams

Experience with CAD and/or NX

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* 3+ years experience with mechanical modeling of soft material systems (polymers, textiles, foams, silicon etc.)

* FEA/CFD modeling experience

Industry experience within product design
