Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Opto-Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in designing and developing opto-mechanical systems, with expertise in CAD design and optics bench experience. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test optical systems for AR/VR applications.
Responsibilities
Design and develop opto-mechanical systems, including optical mounts, fixtures, and assemblies
Create detailed CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks
Collaborate with optical engineers to ensure optical system performance and alignment
Develop and maintain optics bench setups for testing and characterization of optical systems
Conduct tolerance analysis and perform mechanical simulations to optimize system performance
Troubleshoot and debug opto-mechanical issues during testing and integration
Document designs, test results, and lessons learned for future reference

-Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related field
-3+ years of experience in opto-mechanical engineering, with a focus on CAD design and optics bench experience
-Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or NX
-Experience with optics bench setup and testing, including alignment and characterization of optical systems
-Strong understanding of mechanical tolerancing, simulation, and analysis
Experience with optical design software such as Zemax or Code V
Knowledge of materials science and selection for opto-mechanical applications
Familiarity with 3D printing and additive manufacturing techniques
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB
Certification in opto-mechanical engineering or a related field
