Job Description

Work in cross-functional teams with multiple engineering disciplines (optical, mechanical, electrical, firmware, etc.) to design, and prototype AR/VR systems with a human factors focus
Guidance and direction will be provided by research engineer(s) and scientists

Required Skills & Experience

>5 years work experience
- Strong design skills around unoptimized categories
- Strong prototyping skills and mechanical background to build models and functional prototypes
- User interface and user study design

Experience with modeling complex assemblies in CAD, NX preferred
Hands-on prototyping skills: building, testing, modifying
Experience with design for ergonomics and human factors
Technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience with quick-turn fabrication processes (3D printing, machining, molding)
Experience creating and working within industrial design master models

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Ability to design around complex variables and dynamic systems
Ability to own the full prototype loop of design, document, procure, and test.
Self-starter, motivated, chases down details and follows up and follows through.
Actively seeks out answers when stuck, doesnt wait on the team.
Able to work with limited inputs and can handle ambiguity, make decisions.
General curiosity and willingness to learn.
Able to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects at once.
Creative problem solver, enjoys design work.
