Job Description
An employer is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Redmond, WA. This person will be support the buildout, wiring, integration, and maintenance of development lab equipment and test setups. This role is focused on hands-on lab work, including rack-and-stack, wiring, cable routing, electrical integration, and safe connection of low-voltage and high-voltage equipment in a development environment.
The ideal candidate has strong practical experience wiring and organizing lab systems, understands safe electrical practices, and can build clean, reliable, serviceable setups. A more advanced candidate may also be able to support basic circuit design, PCB bring-up, component selection, and troubleshooting of development hardware.
Responsibilities will include:
* Rack, stack, wire, and organize electrical and electronic lab equipment.
* Connect low-voltage and high-voltage equipment safely and correctly in a lab environment.
* Route, dress, label, and secure wiring and cabling using industry best practices.
* Build clean, serviceable, and reliable wiring layouts that are easy to inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain.
* Perform hands-on electrical integration of development equipment, power supplies, control systems, test fixtures, and lab hardware.
* Support setup, modification, and troubleshooting of electrical test environments.
* Verify proper connections, cable paths, grounding, strain relief, insulation, and safe operating conditions.
* Work with engineers to translate rough requirements, diagrams, or concepts into functional lab setups.
* Assist with debugging wiring issues, incorrect connections, damaged cables, power problems, and electrical faults.
* Maintain high standards for safety, organization, documentation, and workmanship.
* Document wiring layouts, connection points, equipment configurations, and changes made to lab setups.
* Support concurrent lab projects with changing requirements and fast development timelines.
* Help improve lab wiring standards, safety practices, labeling conventions, and repeatability of builds.
* For more advanced candidates: assist with circuit-level design, PCB bring-up, component selection, schematic review, and electrical debugging of development hardware.

Required Skills & Experience
2+ years with hands-on electrical wiring, rack-and-stack, lab equipment integration, or electrical technician work.
Strong understanding of wiring best practices, cable management, labeling, routing, strain relief, and electrical safety.
Experience working with low-voltage systems and familiarity with safe handling of higher-voltage equipment.
Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, block diagrams, pinouts, and basic electrical documentation.
Ability to use common electrical tools and test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, crimpers, soldering tools, and cable testers.
Experience troubleshooting electrical connectivity, power, grounding, cabling, or equipment integration issues.
Ability to work independently in a lab environment with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, safe, maintainable workmanship.
