Job Description
The Build Reliability Engineer (BRE) will ensure complex Optical Inter-Satellite Link (OISL) products, and any design revisions thereto, are properly qualified and implemented in manufacturing. This role will oversee the New/Revised Product Introduction process and ongoing builds; focusing on quality, reliability, process improvement, and risk reduction from prototype throughout production. Successful candidate will work with engineering and production teams to assure effective implementation of Design for Manufacturing (DfM), Design for Quality (DfQ), and Design for Reliability (DfR) principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with design and manufacturing engineering teams to understand key manufacturing, quality, and reliability Critical to Function (CtF) attributes and/or parameters;
- Oversee implementation of appropriate manufacturing process and reliability control plans;
- Review and approve or reject the results of product and process qualification activities;
- Perform relevant analyses of process control, measurement, and reliability data to facilitate real-time, data-driven decisions;
- Collaborate with production teams to improve existing processes for yield, cost, and throughput with negligible impact on quality and reliability;
- Investigate production inspection, test, and reliability screening failures to identify failure mode, underlying mechanism, and proximate causes for implementation of corrective action;
- Review and approve or reject nonconforming product dispositions for flight hardware to assure negligible impact on reliability.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, physics, or similar
- Experience with analytical methodologies associated with materials/failure analysis
- Experience with fabrication and assembly of PCBs and PCBAs
- Experience conducting statistical data analysis
- Manufacturing process development experience
- New Product Introduction (NPI) experience
