Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a CCD Design Engineer to support the full new product development lifecycle for custom aerospace connectors and interconnect products. This role will take products from customer requirements through concept development, 3D design, prototyping, testing, qualification, manufacturing launch, and ongoing product support.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical design background with working knowledge of electrical systems and direct experience designing connectors, interconnect products, cable assemblies, power connectors, or high-speed connectors. Experience with component-level product design, 3D modeling, and bringing products from concept through production is required. This role focuses on connector and cable design and is not a harness design position.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering

3+ years of product design experience

Direct connector/interconnect product design experience

Proficiency with SolidWorks or Creo

Experience with prototyping, testing, validation, manufacturing support, and engineering change processes (ECNs)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Windchill experience

DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis)

Aerospace, defense, industrial, automotive, or medical connector industry experience
