Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical / Hydraulic Equipment Manager to support the development, integration, and verification of aerospace mechanical systems. This role is focused on owning equipment requirements and technical artifacts, working directly with suppliers and internal cross‑functional teams, and ensuring compliance with aerospace and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineer with experience in aerospace or defense who is comfortable diving into technical details while coordinating requirements, documentation, and verification activities. This is not a purely design role or a high‑level program management position—it is an execution‑focused role requiring strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and ownership mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Ownership & Requirements Management
Own and maintain equipment‑level technical documentation, including System Control Documents (SCDs), Statements of Work (SSOWs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
Define, trace, and manage system and equipment requirements, ensuring alignment with platform‑level and regulatory requirements.
Utilize requirements management tools (e.g., CAMEO, DOORS) to support requirement traceability and verification.
Review existing qualification and test plans to identify gaps, risks, or clarification needs.
Supplier & LRU Coordination
Act as a technical point of contact for external suppliers and LRU vendors.
Coordinate with suppliers to obtain and review technical deliverables, including:
Engineering drawings
Test procedures
Analysis reports
Qualification and test reports
Inspection and verification artifacts
Ensure supplier documentation is complete, technically accurate, and compliant with program requirements.
Support witnessing of supplier testing and assist with technical issue resolution.
Verification, Test & Compliance Support
Support requirement verification and qualification testing activities, including review of test data and results.
Assist in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts for test or integration issues.
Contribute to enterprise gated reviews, providing technically accurate inputs and documentation.
Support compliance activities in FAA, military, or regulated aerospace environments.
Integration & Troubleshooting
Support lab, rig, and aircraft integration activities, including troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, or actuation systems.
Collaborate closely with systems engineering, manufacturing, test, and quality teams to resolve integration or verification issues.
Assist in troubleshooting efforts at supplier facilities as needed.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Reporting
Work with engineers, analysts, test teams, and program stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of technical artifacts.
Balance collaborative team efforts (~50%) with independent technical work (~50%).
Provide inputs to schedules, estimates, and task planning using tools such as MS Project.
Review technical documentation and extract conclusions, risks, and required actions with minimal supervision.

Compensation:
$65/hr to $75/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
